The weather is sunny this Saturday while the weather service forecasts a fall in temperatures and heavy rain for Sunday: no need to think too long, we put our shoes and we go to the channel. This typical walk offers in general two options: “countryside” towards the Seine and Marne, or towards Paris.
Today we choose the latter where the industrial sites are transformed little by little giving way to housing constructions that take advantage of the presence of the canal and a little greenery.
Over a few kilometers we will cross a sample of what this suburb in full transformation brings to its inhabitants:
- Very large real estates about to be delivered that still look like the developers’ brochure,
- Bridges to allow all new residents to enjoy the other side where the grass is always greener,
- A beautiful new concrete plant that reminds us that they have not finished building in the area,
- A bike path very busy with all kinds of rolling people,
- Street art, sometimes of high quality,
- But also … a failed green wall, garbage dumps …
