While the young people are training for the “grand raid” that is coming (October), Margaux has offered us a small easy hike to the extent of our training, our legs and our hearts.
Early departure for L’Entre-Deux, a charming village not far from the Cilaos circus entrance, and we can enjoy the view of the peaks before they are engulfed by the clouds, as every day more or less late in the morning, from left to right: Grand Bénare (2896m), 3 Salazes, Gros Morne (3019m), Piton des Neiges (top of the island at 3070m) and closer to us the Dimitile (1837m). Today the conditions are particularly favorable and the peaks will be visible practically all the morning. Perhaps the south-east wind, which blows particularly hard as we will see in Saint-Pierre a little later, delays the arrival of the clouds.
After the walk we will have lunch on the seafront of Saint-Pierre facing the sea A small coral reef makes break the strong swell of the Indian Ocean and protects the coastline. Some expert kitesurfers take a lot of fun surfing this wave and flying over the reefs to continue in the lagoon.
